Skydiving is a scary pastime at the best of times, but if there’s one way to makes something slightly less terrifying, it’s to bring a friend along – or in this case, 163 friends.

That’s right, a new world record has been set for the biggest formation of skydivers to simultaneously take the big leap, with an astonishing 164 daredevils diving at the same time, at speeds of up to 175mph and from a total of seven different planes.

The team were made up from a handpicked combination of pros and amateurs, and the big event it took place in Chicago. As you can probably imagine, it makes for quite the ridiculous watch:
