This Company Will Turn You Into Snow After You Die… And Then Let You Fall On The Mountains

It’s snowing dead people! Is this posthumous way to stay on the mountain creepy or cool?

Spending your life on the mountains is a dream for a lot of us. Whether you ride MTB, snowboard, ski, or just like the odd ramble, mountains are our Mecca.

If that rings a bell with you, then we have good news. Now you can stay on the mountains even after you die. You don’t have to get lost in a snowy maze, like Jack Nicholson in The Shining.

Rather than being, buried, or leaving your body to your local taxidermist (if that’s your thing), the people over at Mesoloft will fly your ashes into space and release them high in the atmosphere. 17 miles up, to be precise.

There, as they slowly drift to earth, your ashes will pass through clouds and pick up tiny water molecules. As the continue to head earthwards, your remains will form into rain droplets or snowflakes. With a bit of luck, you could spend your days as part of a kicker that some as yet unborn snowboarder is dropping quintuple-corks off.

The whole procedure is pretty pricey, starting at around £1700, and rising to over £4500 for a deluxe package. For your money, a couple of GoPro cameras will film the flight, drop, and descent. A GPS tracker will also let grieving relatives follow the journey online, so they can see your final voyage.

Although pricey, and a little bit wacky, it’s certainly a way of giving something back to the planet. And if those sci-fi films where water becomes an ever decreasing precious resource become a reality, your passing may just save mankind. Maybe.
