Remains of Brian Histand, Professional BMXer Missing Since 2013, Found in America

Brian was last seen in a field in May 2013. May he rest in peace...

Brian Histand’s Death

More than two and a half years after he first went missing, the remains of professional BMXer and Pennsylvania native Brian Histand have been found on South Mountain in Phoenix.

Brian Histand’s death was confirmed by his family on the ‘Brian Histand Missing Person’ page they have been running since his disappearance in hope of news and information about his whereabouts.

Brian was last seen on the 15th of May 2013, with the missing person report saying he “was contacted by police sitting in a field near 10200 South 35th Avenue in Phoenix, AZ.

“Brian was cogent and able to answer questions and said he didn’t need or want police assistance. Brian provided the officer with the phone number of his out-of-state family and they were notified.

“Brian has not been seen or heard from since. His vehicle was found nearby, locked, and was towed on 5/17/13.”

A team of medical examiners, anthropologists, pathologists and odentologist couldn’t determine the manor or cause of death, but there is no evidence of foul play according to the detective investigation.

Brian wrote this in the journal he began keeping nine days before he went missing:

“Take each day not day by day, hour by hour, not even minute by minute but moment by moment. Fill your life with love and watch it manifest. Negativity, judgement, laziness all of these are evil and meant to poison the brain. Love is where the power is, love is the way of life”

Brian Histand’s death is a heartbreaking loss for the BMX community. Our thoughts are with the friends and family of Brian, and hopefully this will bring them some closure. You can check out some footage of Brian riding below:
