Is It Possible To Make A Surfboard Out Of Cardboard? These Guys Think So….

This shouldn't work, but it does

This fully functional surfboard is light, responsive, and completely* made out of corrugated cardboard. The physics-defying board was made by the guys at Signal Snowboards, with the help of US paper wizards Ernest Packaging.

Last year they built a cardboard snowboard, which gave the team the idea to branch out and see what else could be made out of old banana boxes and the like. We’re excited to see what they think of next which, we’re assured, will be documented in their new web series; Cardboard Chaos.

We’re never going to look at that pile of wine boxes in the supermarket the same way again.

*Well, okay, they’ve sprayed it ipolyurethane to make it waterproof, but you’ve got to give them that.
