Here’s What Happened When A Wild Cheetah Fell Into Jeep Of Frightened Tourists

These tourists got a whole lot more than they bargained for after this scary slip...

There are always some kids who are better at one thing than another in gym class. There’ll no doubt be that one kid who’s decent at rugby but horrendous at football for example, or the kid who can run non-stop for seven hours but can’t throw a basketball high enough to even reach the hoop.

In that respect, the great wildlife of the African backcountry isn’t all that different to your childhood gym class. Gazelle’s can run a mile a minute yes, but have you ever seen one nail an overhead smash in a tense game of badminton? No, we didn’t think so.

Likewise, the cheetah may be the Usain Bolt of the jungle and the punchline star of that joke about never playing cards with a group of jungle cats – amongst other reasons, you would probably get mauled to death – but it turns out that they are absolutely god awful at gymnastics.

Or this particular one certainly is, anyway.

While cheetahs can run faster than any other land animal, reaching up to 75mph in about three seconds, and are also known for their stealth when it comes to creeping up on other animals, they clearly can’t stick a balance beam to save their lives. And we have proof!

The video above shows you the other side to the cheetah, the clumsy, embarrassed side that’s more likely to make you want to wedgie it in the playground than provoke the usual fear associated with the “ferocious beasts”.

That’s right, after a group of safari-goers were lucky enough to encounter a pack of the wild animals, they were then treated to an extra close look when one of the predators leapt up on top of the barred roof of their jeep. It then quickly slipped up and near enough fell into the lap of one of the onlookers.

After the initial shock of the incident and eventual realisation that they weren’t going to need to quickly say their last goodbyes, the jeepload of tourists then start to giggle away hysterically, removing any remaining shred of dignity from the lightening fast African cat and solidifying it’s place in internet history. Wonderful.
