Here’s What Happens When You Put A GoPro Under The Flaming Inferno Of A Firing Rocket

If this video doesn't prove that GoPros are indestructible, we don't know what will...

There was once a very famous YouTube video of a man who put his GoPro at the end of his trombone. The video is so simple, so stupid, and so strangely hypnotic that it’s managed to attract just under 500,000 viewers at the time of writing.

A static test is one of the ways rocket scientists make sure their rocket is safe before they send it up…

Now, while great, this probably isn’t what the guys behind the action cam had in mind when they first released it. Generally, the more extreme the GoPro footage, the better the watch, and while an old dude playing a trombone is undeniably great, it’s not quite on the same level as the death-defying, jaw-dropping, what-the-hell-is-going-on-here videos that are so often spurned out these days.

So, with that in mind, we would like to present to you the latest adventure of the GoPro – filming under the flaming engine of a freakin’ massive rocket. There’s a fair bit of fire to say the least.

What’s going on here is called a ‘static test’. It’s one of the ways that rocket scientists make sure their rocket is completely safe before they send it up in the sky, and involves firing the engine while the rocket itself is anchored to a test bench.

The inside view is one that most people thought they’d probably never see. It’s absolutely amazing. If, for one reason or another though, you didn’t like it, here’s that video of the dude on the trombone. You can’t say that we don’t bring you variety:
