Jackie Chan, Bazookas And Blow-Up Dolls, These Have Got To Be The Worst Hollywood Skateboarding Scenes Of All Time

What were they thinking?

With action sports becoming more and more popular in mainstream culture, it’s not surprising to see a skateboarding chase in a Hollywood movie every now and again.

Some movies that feature skating have been pretty good (Lords Of Dogtown), others amazing (Back To The Future).

“Boards, bazookas and blow-up dolls, this movie makes no sense

But while there are a handful of good skating segments dotted around most of Hollywood still haven’t quite got the idea.

A lot of these movies fall under the ‘so bad they’re great’ category. So sit back, relax, and prepare to be dazzled…

Wonder-Woman (1978)

I’m just going to dive straight in with this one…

After stumbling across an abandoned skateboard our heroine magically conjurers up an amazing set of matching red and gold knee and elbow pads. Not too mention an incredible eagle emblazoned helmet.

Superheroes care about safety too… Who knew?

Wonder Woman then gives chase to a speeding car down a hill (with serious steeze) before vanquishing her enemies (with serious ease).

City Hunter (1993)

If any actor was going to have secret skating skills, it was always going to be Jackie Chan.

He demonstrates this in what maybe the most insane chase sequence ever made. It starts off with Jackie skating through a skyscraper window followed by a gang of baddies. His ninja powers help the board stick to his feet as well as giving him the skills to pull off a triple varial octuple kickflip(?).

Doing shuv-its for no reason and ollie-ing a car makes City Hunter one of the wildest takes on skateboarding out there.

Hard Ticket To Hawaii (1987)

From start to finish, this is just plain bizzarre. The guys who made this movie “must be smoking some heavy doobies.”

Boards, bazookas and blow-up dolls, this movie makes no sense…. At least the acting is stellar ’til the very end.

After quickly getting over being shot in the heart, one of the characters crashes into the skating gunman and then blows him and his inflatable friend with a rocket launcher…

Hackers (1995)

I honestly have no idea what is going on here, or why the director thought it necessary to have Fisher Stevens’ character on a skateboard.

Does having someone on a skateboard make your movie cool? Apparently not.

The Amazing Spider-Man (2012)

“Spiderman on a skateboard? That sounds amazing!” Is exactly what I thought when I first saw this movie. I was wrong.

This segment could have been pretty rad, but instead we had to sit though Peter Parker failing to ollie a pot of paint while listening to Coldplay…
