Katie Ormerod Makes History as the First Woman to Land a Double Cork 1080

Holy shit this is impressive!

Holy shit – British snowboarder Katie Ormerod has made history by becoming the first woman ever to land a backside double cork 1080!

The softly-spoken Yorkshire lass tried the trick for the first time at a GB Freestyle Team training session out on the Stubai glacier earlier this year, and apparently stomped it on her second attempt.

Katie is still only 16 years old.

Katie, who’s still only 16 years old, has been marked out as one to watch for a while. She’s earned a string of impressive results on the contest circuit over the past few years, and GB Freestyle Team coach Hamish McKnight has nothing but praise for her ability, and her attitude.

Katie only narrowly missed out on a place in the Team GB squad for Sochi, but now she’s got this monster of a trick dialled it’s a fairly safe bet that she’ll be leading the charge in Pyeongchang in 2018. Get in Katie!
