It’s not really much of a stretch to say that the 4th of July is a pretty big deal for most Americans. Independence Day. A day that independence was won. A day to celebrate that time Will Smith, Jeff Goldblum, and President Bill Pullman bravely fought a load of aliens from the cosmos and won. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Well done America. “U-S-A, U-S-A, U-S-A,” and all that.

Of course, the United States of America has a population of almost 320 million people and as such many of them have very different ways of celebrating Independence Day. Some, you might have read, enjoy a meal of roast turkey and cranberry sauce. That’s a classic one. Roast turkey and cranberry sauce. Others, specifically 234 people who reside at Glacier View in Alaska (at the foot of the Matanusuka Glacier), like to paint patriotic messages on vehicles and then drive these vehicles off a cliff.
