This video is so horrific that the Mpora team were only able to watch a tiny segment of it before it all got a bit too real. Simply put, the bit we saw showed a whale shark being cut in half while still alive. It was genuinely one of the most horrific things we’ve ever seen.

We’ve posted the video to publicise this disgusting practice, and shine a light on animal cruelty. It’s not for the faint-hearted and you certainly won’t garner any enjoyment from it. In fact, maybe just don’t watch it and take our word for it instead.

According to the video description on YouTube, this sort of thing mostly occurs in Asia. It is believed that by slicing up the animal while its still alive, the meat will taste fresher and make for a more delicious meal.

Whether that’s true or not (it sounds like bullshit), there’s no denying that this “method” of food preparation is absolutely sickening and has no place in modern society. Let’s unite against stuff like this, and bring an end to the needless suffering of animals.
