It's been a hell of a year!

It’s been an awesome year for women in action and adventure sports – Records have been broken, titles held and amazing feats conquered.

If we named every single amazing moment for adventurous women in 2015 we’d be here into the night, so we’ve decided instead to give you a little round up of our favourites.

Launched at the start of the year, the initiative is a “celebration of active women up and down the country who are doing their thing no matter how well they do it, how they look or even how red their face gets.”

This Girl Can is now a firm part of our sports culture! Can you believe it;s only been around one year?!

Sophie Radcliffe Showed TV Sexism Where It’s At…

In February, Sophie Radcliffe was rejected from an adventure program for being female.

Radcliffe, not ready to accept the BBC’s decision however, wrote this amazing response on her blog.

The BBC have now backtracked on their decision and opened the show up to both men and women.

 Women’s England Team Qualified In The World Cup…

We had a lot to shout about with the England Women’s football team this year.

The whole country got behind the team and took to twitter, with the team regularly trending.

Kaitlyn Farrington Inspired Us All By Climbing 25 Volcanoes…

Olympic gold medal winner Kaitlyn Farrington was just at the start of a promising pro career when discovered she had a rare spinal disorder called congenital cervical stenosis and was forced into early retirement.

Not one to be beaten however, she decided something seriously inspirational. This year, Kaitlyn has climbed up 25 volcanoes in the Cascades Range in just six weeks, riding down each one.

What a woman!

Women’s UK Surfing Prize Money Was Made Equal To Mens…

And about time to!

Women have long been offered less prize money than their male counterparts in surfing. In the World Surf League, women are currently awarded half the amount of the men.

It was agreed at the ESF committee meeting yesterday that 2016 will see the same prize amount offered at the men and ladies’ open in all of the English National Surfing Championship events.

A historic mark for women’s surfing in the UK….

Angel Collinson Annihilates Alaska…

Honoured this September with the award for the Best Female Freeride Performance at the Intern­ational Freeskiing Film Festival, Angel is one rad lady.

She has shown some of the most amazing women’s skiing to date, in all-time conditions, in the best terrain in the world!

Women’s Adventure Expo And Shextreme Film Festival Launched

The Women’s Adventure Expo and Shextreme Film Festival are two amazing opportunities to meet like minded adventurers and push forward women in action sports and adventure.

Launched at the end of the year, both of the events were amazing and we can’t wait to go to the next meet up in 2016.
