Watch The Frightening Moment These Cave Divers Got Hit By An Underwater Avalanche

Thought avalanches only happened in the mountains?

There’s a number of places we’d expect to get hit by an avalanche. Under the water, in a narrow cave, in the Bahamas is not one of those places. But that’s exactly what happened to Kenny Broad and his crew while exploring the Blue Holes system for National Geographic.

The “avalanche” left the team blind, forcing them to swim around in a gravy-souplike substance while trying to stay calm. Eventually, as this footage shows, the divers were able to find the all important guide line and lead the way to safety. We can’t even begin to imagine how we’d respond in such a situation (not well, if we had to guess).
