Aimee Fuller was the first woman to nail the double backflip. Not bad from a girl from Bromley in South-East London when you consider that the 22-year-old grew up in Bromley, South-East London and spent her early snowboarding days practicing on a dry slope. You'd think that this would put her at a disadvantage, but it doesn't seem to have slowed her down one bit.
Aged 12, Fuller crossed the pond and moved to the US was soon attending special snowboarding camps in Oregon. It was here that she was first spotted and where her sponsorship with Roxy began. From this moment onwards, the Brit-born boarder has never looked back. Recently, she has dominated the Dachstein Pleasure Jam event with her energetic and bubbly style, achieving back-to-back Slopestyle wins in 2011 and 2012. She has also previously achieved a top ten finish in the Winter X Games and performed well at a multitude of other Slopestyle events.
The 22 year old is keen to stay true to her British roots and will represents Team GB at the 2014 Winter Olympics. Surely one of the country's best bets for a medal, Aimee has not done too badly having grown up in a place where she would be lucky to even see a couple of inches of snow each year. Her rise through the snowboarding ranks is a clear illustration of her passion and commitment to the sport she loves.
