Dirt and Vert/Mega Ramp rider Anthony Napolitan made an incredible comeback on the Dew Tour in 2006. Just one year after finishing bottom of the Dirt standings, he won the Dirt contest on the first stop of the tour and kept the momentum going to claim the Dew Cup in BMX Dirt. His Tour performances also gained him his first invite to the X Games, where he won a bronze medal.
Since that breakthrough year, Anthony has continued to impress with a second consecutive X Games invite in 2007, where he finished third in the Big Air competition. Soon after earning the Dirt title at the BMX World Championships in Germany in 2009, he starred once again at the X Games, becoming the first rider ever to land a double front flip.
Born in Youngstown, Ohio, Anthony was an active youngster who bounced between sports looking for the right fit and it was only when one of his eighth-grade football teammates invited him to a makeshift riding compound one weekend that Anthony caught the BMX bug. The opening of Section 8, a skatepark in nearby Hubbard, took his riding to the next level, and a meeting with pro Kevin Robinson secured Anthony a place at Woodward Camp and on the Hoffman Bikes team in 2005.
Always an innovator, Napolitan is constantly wowing crowds by breaking new ground. His signature moves are variations on the frontflip, backflip and 360 - he was on particularly good form on the Dew Tour in 2007, when he landed a suicide no-hander front flip and a tire grab to barspin front flip.
