Brit Ben Wallace is an accomplished BMX rider in various disciplines. In 2007 he won the Street competition at the NASS festival, and he came in second in Dirt and second overall on the Braun Cruzer Tour. He also performed solidly on the Dew Tour in both Park and Dirt, and won Lords Of Dirt in France in 2010 and Red Bull Empire of Dirt in 2011 and 2012. He topped off his wonderful 2012 season with a nomination for Dirt Rider of the Year at the NORA cup awards.
Among his other claims to fame are the Guinness World Record for the highest BMX back flip - in 2010, in front of a crowd of onlookers outside the Bird's Nest stadium in Beijing’s Olympic City, he smashed his own previous record by 8cm to set a new world record of 4.8 metres.
Born in Basingstoke in the south of England, Ben’s favourite rider growing up was Dave Mirra - “my idol since I first picked up a BMX,” he says. He is still based in his hometown, naming nearby Horsham Skatepark and ‘anything in Bournemouth’ as his favourite places to ride.
One of the most versatile riders round, Ben has the ability to win trophies in the park, dirt or on the mini ramp. With tricks like the triple tailwhip mixed in with his fluid rhythm on dirt, Wallace is a threat in all events, well illustrated by his 2011 season, when he finished 13th on the Dew Tour in Park and fourth in Dirt.
