Chris Akrigg is best known as the dominant force in the British trial event discipline - he was won the British National Trial Championships an impressive six times. He has been a winner on the national scene in other events too, such as the Redbull Cobble Wobble and the Redbull Mini Drome.
Always looking to inspire the next generation of riders, Akrigg champions the entertainment side of the sport by filming his ventures out into challenging riding locations. In total, Akrigg has had over a million views on his videos.
Akrigg hails from North Yorkshire in the UK. He first ventured onto two wheels with a Moto trials bike as a youngster and soon found he had a natural talent on the bike. The Brit turned professional in trials in 2006.
The Yorkshire rider is known to push the boundaries when it comes to pulling of insane gaps and tricks. This was demonstrated to the extreme in 2011 whilst filming one of his videos. He was trying the limit of his abilities by landing a difficult jump but didn’t quite manage it and he fell… down a 40 foot cliff. Thankfully he survived with only a broken arm and a broken leg but had to recover for the rest of the 2011 season. He made a popular return to the mountain biking scene in 2012.
