Two-time Thrasher Skater of the Year Chris Cole won his biggest prize yet in 2013, taking home the Street League Super Crown Championship. He won gold at the Street League Skateboarding event at the Munich X Games in June, and took the overall title and the $200,000 prize at the final stop of the series in Newark, New Jersey. Among other honours that Cole has won during his career include Transworld Skateboarding’s "Readers Choice Award" in 2009, the Dew Tour in 2009, the Maloof Money Cup in 2009 and 2010, and the Battle of the Berrics 2 in 2009. He also won back-to-back gold medals in consecutive years in the Street competition at the X Games, and won a Street Best Trick gold at the X Games in 2007. Born in Langhorne, Pennsylvania in 1982, Chris decided at the age of 14 that he would forgo college and make his way in life by skateboarding full-time. He was soon entering, and winning, local and regional skateboarding contests, and by the age of 16, having already established himself as an elite talent in the sport, he was landing corporate sponsorships deals. Chris himself credits the development of his riding style to his willingness to skate all physical obstacles that present themselves in the street, rather than just ledges and handrails. He makes even the hardest tricks - like backside 270 noseblunts, front blunt kickflip out and switch backside noseblunts to fakie - look easy in video parts that are mind-boggling, but also inspiring and fun to watch.
