Irish Skater Of The Year 2010 Denis Lynn has been skating with Superdead Skateboards since 2011 and recently became part of the National Skateboard Company team. He is also a member of the Skate Flow team for Vans. In 2012 he scored his first cover for Sidewalk Skateboarding magazine, with a savage switch crook.
He has continued his competition progress in 2013 with numerous solid performances. At the
World Cup of Skateboarding finals at the Nass Festival at the Royal Bath and West Showground he finished in fourth place, and later in the year at Boardmasters in Cornwall he scored a fifth placed finish in the skate competition.
Denis grew up in Belfast, Northern Ireland and skated the streets of his hometown with his brother Conhuir, who has also gone on to become a sponsored skater. Although he says he loves Belfast (“I’ve skated round the whole place a thousand times”), he also says that he is keen to move on. “I’m keen to get out of Belfast anytime I can,” he says, “because all I want to do is travel, meet new people, skate new spots and take in new cultures.”
It looks like Denis will get lots of opportunities for travelling in the near future. With the ability to pull off a series of smooth runs and stylish tricks, his competition performances will no doubt improve and his roles in the full length In Progress video and in ‘The Big Push’ for Vans will no doubt ensure he keeps moving upwards.
