Austrian snowboarder, Christian ‘Gigi’ Rüf, is snowboarding royalty. He is able to combine a variety of technical tricks with an uncanny smooth edge. Rüf seems to defy physics with his tricks and achieves seemingly ridiculous hangtime. In his 13 years on the scene he's inspired countless young riders.
Gigi first announced himself at the turn of the millenium with a killer part in the classic 'Destroyer' movie. That same year he was named Rookie of the Year by Transworld Magazine. Not a bad start. Since then the eye-catching cameos have continued with regularity.
Gigi Rüf was born on the 9th of October 1981 in Au, Austria. He started snowboarding at an early age and made it his point of duty to learn and master a variety of traditional tricks, as well as adding his own personal flare to them. Since a painful breakup with Burton Rüf has started his own snowboard company - Slash.
Gigi’s style combines an endless repertoire of stunts, complimented by his special smooth edge. It is this style that has captured the eyes of the variety of film producers that have featured him in their films and won him such admiration from boarders young and old.
