Jamie Nicholls was the youngest athlete on the books of Red Bull when he signed for them when he was only 16. The energy drink company spotted the qualities in the young Brit - his incredible work ethic and talent - that has helped him rise so quickly in the snowboarding ranks.
Having been labelled as the next big thing in British boarding for years Nicholls won four gold medals in the 2005 Orange British Championships held in Laax. In 2009, he won the Overall Men’s Category at the British Freeski and Snowboarding Championships. Since then he's riddne with some of the best riders in the world and even brought some of them to the UK to wow crowds.
Nichols was born on July 21, 1993, in Bradford. He started snowboarding on dry slopes aged 8, and signed his first sponsorship deal at the age of 9 and worked extra hard to remove the fear that many instructors have of signing children under 12. His very first competition was in 2002, in Scotland, and he has since gone on to winning medal after medal.
Jamie’s style is focused on freestyle snowboarding and he combines this with his determination and love for the sport to compete against his bigger and older competitors and win. He is predicted to continue maturing his style and get even better as he gets older and go on to compete in many more competitions.
