Joel Muzzey is one of snowboarding's most prolific writers and photographers. Muzzey is better known for his work behind the camera than in front it but is a handy snowboarder as well and spent most of his younger years strapped to a board.
Despite his love of snowboarding, Muzzey was realistic enough to know his chances of turning pro. He pursued a journalism Degree at New Hampshire State College and began a career as a write on all things snowboarding. In the years that follo wed his work was featured in Snowboard and Transworld Snowboarding. He has swapped his notepad for a camera in recent years and taught himself the tricks of the trade and a year later he was photo editor of Snowboarder magazine.
Muzzey grew up in Gilford, New Hampshire and so it was pretty easy to fall in love with snowboarding. He grew up skiing and doing gymnastics, but once he first got on a snowboard he was hooked. To him it was clear what he wanted to do with his life and he has forged a career out of his passion in a variety of different roles.
