Over the last three seasons, Max Anstie has enjoyed great success in the World MX2 Championship. In 2011, riding the Kawasaki Pro Circuit of the French team CLS, he finished sixth. Last year, riding for Honda Gariboldi, he secured a seventh place finish overall and a podium in Lierop in the Netherlands. He is currently riding for Rockstar Energy Suzuki in the 2013 campaign. Max had previously experienced two tough seasons in the US. In 2009, he took part in four amateur races, securing an invitation to compete in supercross at the X Games, and finished 18th in the AMA MX series riding for the KTM junior team. In 2010, riding for Yamaha, he finished ninth in the AMA SX series, including a fourth placed finish in San Diego, and 20th in motocross. Max was born in Winchester, England, the son of former World Championship rider Mervyn Anstie. Still only 19, he first rode at the tender age of three, and went on to make his debut on the European stage in the 65cc and 85cc classes, before being offered the opportunity to race with KTM in the USA. He has experienced some difficult moments during his short career, but his future in the sport remains promising. Although he now lives in California, his favourite track is still Matterley Basin in England, and when he’s not riding he spends time with his family. He says: “I am really thankful to have such a good team of people around me.”
