Aussie Robbie Maddison was unable to ride in any of the events on the Red Bull X-Fighters series in 2012, but he had a good reason - he was in Turkey working as Daniel Craig’s motorbike stunt double on the filming of the 007 film Skyfall! For his work on the film, he received an SAG award for ‘best stunt ensemble’ and a Taurus world stunt award for ‘best stunt with a vehicle’. In 2005, Maddo developed a taste for setting new world records by claiming two distance records in just one year: 67m on a 125cc bike and 75m on a 250cc Honda. Two years later, he broke another world record when he jumped his Honda CR500 99m at the Rio Hotel in Las Vegas. He also finished second in the overall standings of Red Bull X-Fighters in 2008 and 2009. Hailing from the town of Kiama in New South Wales, Maddo developed his passion for riding by competing in national motocross and supercross events from the age of six. After completing Year 10 at Kiama High School and taking up an electrical apprenticeship, he continued learning freestyle tricks and he became Australia's national amateur champion at aged 16. He turned pro in 2003. Maddo is a true 21st century daredevil who lives by the motto: "Face your fears - live your dreams". One of his most spectacular jumps was over the Corinth Canal in Greece, a distance of over 80m, and he looks set to continue pushing the boundaries of motorbike stunt riding.
