Finish freestyler, Roope Tonteri, is best known for his exciting freestyling techniques and his undoubtedly notorious presence on and off the slopes. He secured a 2nd place finish in the Colorado Grand Prix Slopestyle competition, which started his 2013 on a great note.
Tonteri is no stranger to the world of snowboarding competitions, as he won the Burton European Open back to back, in 2011 and 2012. He has also achieved huge victories in the World Snowboarding Championships held in France earlier this year.
Roope grew up in a town in Finland called Kouvola where he learned to put together consecutive spins on its jump lines. He practiced his precision and control on his home hill, Vuokatti.
Now Roope, at the age of 21, still continues to compete in World Slopestyle competitions with air victory after air victory and he would have it no other way. He even has plans to release a snowboarding video entitled “Resorts” that will feature his sick Slopestyle techniques.
