13-year-old Ryan Sheckler’s debut pro season in 2003 was astonishing. He took second place at the Scandinavian Open, first place at the Slam City Jam, first place overall in the Vans Triple Crown Street competition, a gold medal at the Gravity Games, and, to top it all, became the youngest competitor to win an X Games gold, landing every trick he attempted in the Street competition. Since that rookie year, he has made history by becoming the first skateboarder ever to win an AST Championship three years in a row. In 2008 and 2010, he took home his second and third X Games golds, he won the Street competition at Simple Session 2011, and he took first place in Street Style at the 2012 Dew Tour stop in San Francisco. Ryan was born in La Palma, California in 1989. He started rolling on a skateboard in his driveway at eighteen months, by the time he was four he could do ollies, and at seven, he was skating everyday. Once his talents began to take form, he began his travels around America with his mum Gretchen, taking multiple podiums on the Vans Warped Tour, and winning the US Open of Skateboarding and the California Amateur Skateboard League State Championship. Ryan’s incredible skills have been demonstrated not only in made-for-TV competitions but also out on the street - now one of the leading members of the Plan B skate team, Ryan recently dropped an amazing array of tricks into their promo video Superfuture.
