Ståle Sandbech

Like many who've gone before him, Ståle Sandbech is a young Norwegian rider who broke onto the scene at impressively young age and with an impressive amount of talent. He's made a name for himself as an incredible competitor and already has an enviable trophy cabinet. Sandbech made his own mark by not only imitating riders, but by providing fresh new moves, every now and then, to regularly amaze the crowds. He could be grasping huge air from a kicker or he could be in the pipe, Sandbech always succeeds in making an impression. He's won the Overall Men's title in 2012, the next year he only managed second in the same standings but also added a second place in the Big Air rankings. Despite his youth Ståle has never been afraid to mix it with the big boys. He competed in the Arctic Challenge when he was just 13 and made his Olympic debut aged 17, a feat that made him the youngest person to represent Norway for over 80 years. As well as destroying contest after contest, Ståle has also been joining up with Scandi-crew, RK1, and has featured in some jaw-dropping parts for them. Given the strength of Norwegian snowboarding at present, it speaks volumes that Stale was named 'Norwegian Snowboarder of the Year' in 2012.
