On only his second year on the Dew Tour in 2009, Australian Vince Byron claimed a career-best sixth place in Vert at Salt Lake City with a 540 tailwhip and 540 barspin. He finished the year with an eighth place in the overall standings and continued to progress in 2010, finishing sixth overall. In 2011 he finished third and the following year he took second place in the Vert competition at Pantech Beach in Ocean City, Maryland. Away from the tour, Vince has also experienced success at the X Games, winning bronze at the 2011 X Games in Vert, Mini Mega gold at X Games Asia in Shanghai in 2012, and silver in the Big Air contest at X Games Los Angeles in 2013. Hailing from Brisbane, Vince now says he wishes he had realized earlier in life how much he would enjoy BMX - he only rode for the first time at the age of 13. Just five years later he was a pro, and since then he has enjoyed a meteoric rise, taking his first win in Vert at the age of 22. He adapted to Big Air even faster, earning a silver medal in his debut in the discipline at X Games 2011. Since joining the pro tour, he has steadily increased the height of his airs and expanded his trick list, claiming the first-ever double tailwhip 540 on Vert in 2011. He is also versatile, being the only rider at X Games 2012 to compete in three disciplines - Park, Vert and Big Air.
