About Ryan Guettler
In 1983, Ryan Guettler was born in Beenleigh, Australia. He grew up watching BMX Freestyle greats like Dave Mirra, Ryan Nyquist and Matt Hoffman dominate the sport and decided that he wanted to try his hand against the best riders worldwide. With this in mind, he moved to the United States in 2003, with the main goal of competing in the X-Games. In 2004 his bronze medal finish at the 10th X-Games put Ryan on the map in a major way. This was just the beginning for Guettler though, and he won another medal the following year at the next X-Games in 2005.
Ryan Guettler's star performance has earned him some much-deserved recognition, and he is sponsored by Spy Optic, Pro-Tec, and Monster Energy Drink, among others. Although injuries he experienced early on during the 2006 season prevented him from continuing his winning streak, he has shown little sign of slowing down, releasing a signature bike from MirraCo, and even designing his own pair of Vans shoes.
