This is a difficult trick. Practice on a jump you are comfortable with and be prepared to crash. This trick is performed on BMX and kick scooters.
Approach the ramp at an angle veering toward the direction you plan on whipping your bike. This will help generate the momentum necessary to whip the bike. When airborne lift your front foot up and kick the bike, with your back foot, in that direction. Keep your weight over the bike and the bike swinging with your arms. Lift your back foot over the swinging bike and stop the bike with your front foot.
Whips can be incorporated with other tricks. Also people are landing double and even triple tail whips. The triple is a rare feat, but was first landed by Joe Johnson and subsequently by riders such as Dave Mirra, James Foster and Cameron White.
