About Rick Johnson

Rick Johnson, a currently retired motocross and Supercross star, started his motorcycling career as early as the age of three, when his father bought him his very first bike. Rick Johnson was born in El Cajon, California on July 6, 1964. Within thirteen years of receiving his first bike Johnson had obtained a professional license, at only the age of sixteen. Even though Johnson had obtained his professional license he did not win his first national championship until he was 20 while riding for the Yamaha Factory Team. In 1986 he joined the Honda team and proceeded to win the 250 and Supercross titles. The following year Rick Johnson won the 250, 500, and the Supercross titles. He proceeded to win even more titles over the next 2 years.

Rick Johnson broke his wrist in a practice run, causing him to announce his retirement a few years later in 1991 after pressing on for a few more seasons. In 1999, Johnson was inducted in the motocross hall of fame. After his retirement from motocross, Johnson soon joined stock car and off road racing. He still pursues the off road racing.
