Brandon has lived in Whistler, British Columbia, Canada his whole life. He began riding at the age of 6. He continued racing until he was fifteen years old and from then on began to compete in dirt jumps and slopestyle competitions fulltime. That year he also came in 2nd place in the Bearclaw invitational in Vancouver Island. When young Brandon was asked what motivates him he simply answered; Riding, video games, friends, new riding spots and Corey Bohan.
After winning the Nissan Qashqai challenge he was asked what he would buy with the cheque and he smiled and said "I would build a place where I could do some indoor riding."
At the young age of only 17, Brandon Semenuk already has dozens of sponsors such as Nike, Sram, Rockshox, Trek, Smith, Jnl, E.13, Giro, Evolution, Camelback and Truvativ. We jokingly asked what was on his iPod as he wobbled his head to the beat and he simply answered “a little bit of everything.” He currently owns a 1987 Ford F-150 as a way to get around in a gas powered vehicle when not on his bike. It is safe to say that if Brandon Semenuk continues riding with the devotion, love and dedication he’s shown for pro mountain biking he will have many trophies to add to his shelf and more fans to add to his many list of followers.
