Gee Atherton is a professional mountain biker. He was born on February 26th, 1985 in Owestry, United Kingdom. His given name is George David Atherton.
Gee Atherton has been mountain bike racing since 1998 and has won numerous awards - he's a multiple national mountain biking champion, multiple mountain biking World Cup winner, and is the 2008 downhill mountain biking World Champion. Although his primary focus is downhill mountain bike racing, he also competes in free riding events.
In 2007, Gee Atherton, along with his brother Dan and sister Rachel, started Animal Commençal, a mountain biking racing team that is extremely well-known within the mountain biking community as well as the United Kingdom.
Gee's sponsors include Animal, Redbull, 661, Sram, Truvativ, Avid, FOXSHOX, and more. He has appeared on BBC's Top Gear show where he was sent to Portugal to race against Richard Hammond.
In his spare time, Gee enjoys cooking and says that if he wasn't a professional mountain bike racer, he'd be in school, working on a Doctorate in Science. His favorite bands are AC/DC and The Prodigy and he says he cannot live without his iPod and cell phone.
