About Greg Minnaar
Greg Minnaar is a champion mountain biker born in South Africa. He has many wins and championships on his résumé. He has been crowned downhill World Cup Champion 3 times since 2001. Minnaar has been awarded the South African Cyclist of the year from 2002 through 2008. He has also represented South Africa in the world championships every year since 1997.
Born in November 1981 in Pietermaritzburg, Greg Minnaar first started to garner attention as a world class downhill racer while racing for a local South African team in several World Cup races. He has been on many teams since then, including the British International team Animal Orange, the Global Racing Team and most recently the Santa Cruz Syndicate. His latest achievement is that he won the World Championship Cup in 2008. He has also won the NORBA cup 2 times. Most recently Greg Minnaar broke his collarbone in a race in November 2009 in preparation for an Enduro Race.
