The trailer for the new segment of "Strength In Numbers" is out now! Strength in Numbers is an action sports film that explores mountain bike culture through the experiences of the world's best riders. Anthill Films, in co-production with Red Bull Media House, have created a film, which will change the way the world sees mountain biking, both on and off the screen. The documentary combines progressive action and beautiful cinematography with compelling stories to show how the many different sides of mountain biking are all connected. The filmmakers, who brought you ‘The Collective’, ‘Roam’, ‘Seasons’ and ‘Follow Me’, traveled the globe to find communities that represented the many sides of the sport, with film shoots in British Columbia, Nepal, Scotland, Austria, Switzerland, California, Utah and the Whistler Mountain Bike Park. For the crew and riders, Strength in Numbers represents a way to give back and progress the sport. The movie features a diverse selection of riders with some of the biggest names in the sport, including: Andrew Shandro, Brandon Semenuk, Cam McCaul, Gee Atherton, Graham Agassiz, Matt Hunter, Rene Wildhaber, Thomas Vanderham and Wade Simmons. The cast consists of a mix of established pros, up and comers and local riders, with Anthony Messere, Adam Billinghurst, Rachel Atherton, Ryan Howard and Steve Smith also appearing in the film. “It’s been a long time coming and I can’t wait to see what the Anthill boys have put together”, says world cup downhill champion Gee Atherton. “For me, as a rider, it’s exciting to be part of something like this – it’s a chance to help progress and grow our sport.”

With Fort William catapulting Danny Hart and Brook Macdonald into the upper echelons of World Cup racing, all eyes turned to Leogang for what looked like being a close run race on the shorter Austrian track. Trek's Aaron Gwin put the frighteners on everyone in Fort William, establishing a 5 second lead before a mistake left him back in fifth place. Keen to set things right, Leogang would see the US pinner reaffirm the form he showed in the first two races, nailing a time of 3:44.181, over two seconds up on Gee Atherton's second place time. It's been a long time coming but Finally 3 is finally here. The 2011 UCI World Cup ushered in a new era in downhill and a new generation of talent. With Trek's Aaron Gwin dominating race after race, the old order could only look on while the new order stepped up their game and showed their worth. Specialized's Troy Brosnan coasted straight into the top ten alongside the UK's Danny Hart, who saved the best till last and let it all hang out at the World Champs in Champery, producing a run that rivaled anything that had gone before it. New Zealand's Brook MacDonald, at just 20 years of age, showed his mettle in 2011 and together with the Syndicate's Josh Bryceland has proven himself more than capable of taking a win. Who would have known what 2011 would bring back in Peitermaritzberg, South Africa in April of last year?

Episode 10 of The Atherton Project kicks off back home in Llanrhaeadr, Wales. Ever since moving here, Dan’s been meaning to get to work on building some tracks and jumps in the back yard – and it’s a great excuse to have some fun with a large digger… Then it’s a short trip up the road to Llangynog for the Red Bull Weekend Warriors event – a chance for young and up-and-coming riders to join the Athertons in their own back yard, hit the downhills and get some expert coaching from the family along the way.

Episode 9 of The Atherton Project begins in Val Di Sol for the last round of the World Cup. It’s been a tough season, and the championship is not at the front of the team’s mind, more just finishing with a good result on the day - especially on such a punishing track as this one. We also catch up with Dan, who’s preparing for an enduro event in Sweden. Episode 8 of The Atherton Project begins with the team heading out on enduro bikes with 7-time Paris-Dakar rider Mick Extance – and getting stuck into some North Wales mud, quite literally. Then it’s on to World Cup Round 6 at La Bresse in France, where §legendary bike designer Max Commencal pays the team a visit and lends some words of advice and encouragement.

Episode 7 of The Atherton Project begins in Windham for round 5 of the World Cup with the team feeling the pressure for points following the disappointment of the last round – especially for Gee, if he’s to retain his title this season. Then it’s on to Whistler for the Crankworx event, a good chance to get away from the World Cup and have some fun, whether it’s judging the Miss Trail Bunny competition or working on some backflips in a foam pit.
