Trail Notes is a collection of stories capturing the lifestyles of passionate mountainbikers from the Southern Hemisphere Mecca of Rotorua New Zealand and the infamous trails of the Whakarewarewa forest. The film follows four unique individuals and showcases their stories of how mountainbiking captivated their lives and what has drawn them to the sport and the intoxicating location of the forest. Each of these interconnected stories creates a tapestry of the local scene that mimics the winding trails. These stories of personal battles, commitment and passion to the sport of mountainbiking, illustrate both the individual and collective culture that these trails breed. What an epic race with more than 300 riders for the opening of the Nissan Belgian Downhill Cup in Malmedy these 7th and 8th of April. The race has seen the victory of an incredible young rider : Martin Maes, 15 years old, took the advantage on confirmed riders such as Nico Vink. Martin seems to be the revelation of this coming 2012 season

9th Saas-Fee Glacier Bike Downhill 2012

A race from 3'500m to 1'800m For the 9th time the downhill glacier bike race took place in Saas-Fee. In perfect weather and snow conditions, the 142 riders had to manage 1700m of vertical, starting en mass at 3’500m and riding over glacier and snow to the village at 1’800m. This year’s winner was Charly Di Pasquale from Les Granges Narboz, France, with a record breaking time of 7.31 minutes.
