Trail Notes is a collection of stories capturing the lifestyles of passionate mountainbikers from the Southern Hemisphere Mecca of Rotorua New Zealand and the infamous trails of the Whakarewarewa forest. The film follows four unique individuals and showcases their stories of how mountainbiking captivated their lives and what has drawn them to the sport and the intoxicating location of the forest. Each of these interconnected stories creates a tapestry of the local scene that mimics the winding trails. Hastily compiled, poorly directed, showcasing little more than my mediocre riding, but downright awesome fun to film. Riding on the trail of New Zealand's first railway at Dun Mountain, Nelson, the uphill is 3000ft of sluggish climb from sea level, but rewarded with incredible views when you emerge from the bush at the summit, and then by 10km of unending, flowing, perfectly carved downhill singletrack.. The bike is an Avanti 29er hired from UBike, Nelson. ***DISCLAIMER*** I do not own the music used in this clip, nor is it being used for any financial gain. It just sounds wicked.

Stumbled across a new section of singletrack at Swinley Forest before Christmas (which means it should be nicely bedded in by now). It flows for what feels like forever, with berms coming thick and fast.
