Mark Webb

Mark Webb Professional BMX Rider Twenty-five-year-old Mark Webb is a professional BMX Rider from Southsea, Great Britain. Known for his amazing stunts, often displayed back to back, many are saying that he is taking BMX into the future.

Mark started participating in BMX in 1998. Riding professionally since 2004, Mark has taken home the first place trophy in six international competitions. While he rides equally well in the park and street competitions, his forte is the mini-ramp.

Like most BMX riders, Mark Webb has had several injuries. In 2007 he broke his wrist which kept him from competing in the X Games. He had recovered fully when he missed a fairly easy flip in December of 2007 and broke one of his vertebrae. He then amazed everyone by returning a month sooner than expected and winning the 2008 Cologne Masters in Germany.

When asked about his injuries, Webb is confident. "If you roll the dice, you gotta expect to pay the price," he once told an ESPN reporter. He expects to be injured, but believes the risk is worth the reward. His abundance of talent helps in that regard.

Many people, even those not familiar with BMX riding, became familiar with Mark Webb when he began posting videos of his stunts on the internet. People delight in having the ability to rewind, slow down, and pause his moves frame-by-frame to see how they were actually done.

He and fellow competitor Ronnie Remo started their own BMX company called TotalBMX in 2010. Using Mark's amazing web edits to get the word out about the company, they have already begun to enjoy some brand recognition with very little money put into advertising. The company plans on using Mark's success to promote themselves as they build, and hope to be considered a competitive company once Mark is ready to retire and work on the business side of things.

While they currently have a limited inventory, Mark has been influential in the design of the company's BMX frames and part. He knows what he wants in a bike, and makes sure it is available to others as well.

Mark Webb's Carrer Highlights

Mark Webb's career highlights include winning both the park and mini-ramp at the 2007 Nokia Fise in Montpellier, France. After his impressive return in 2008 that led to a quick win at the Cologne Masters, Mark followed up in 2009 with a fourth place finish in the Dew Tour standings as well as another first place at the Nokia Fise, this time in park. His 2010 trip to Montpellier, France netted him a first place trophy in mini-ramp. Mark Webb has no plans to retire any time soon, so we can expect to see that list grow.

He placed 14th and 17th in the 2009 and 2010 X Games, respectively.
