The backside tailslide is a trick that started with skateboarding, but has been adapted to any number of board sports. One of the harder slides to do, it can take some time to get it down. Knowing how to ollie up to a ledge of some kind is important, of course, as is being able do a backside 180.
Choose an obstacle, something that isn’t too high, but obviously with enough clearance to slide on. Approach it backside (back and heels facing it, toes and face facing away from it). The closer you are to parallel the better it will be. Get a little bit of speed up, too. Do a 90 degree ollie, over your obstacle, landing with the tail on the obstacle. You need to have as much of your weight on the tail as you can. Slide as far as you can. The more speed you have, the better your angle, the longer your slide will be. Come off the obstacle and pivot the remaining 90 degrees, into a fakie. Good luck.
