A varial kickflip is an advanced street trick that is usually done once a person has accomplished an ollie, pop shove it, and a kickflip. The trick involves putting your foot flat against the tail and then popping the tail. Pull the board with your back foot in order to make the board spin 180 degrees like a pop shove it. Kick the board at the top corner in order to get the board spinning. Once you have rotated the board while simultaneously kicking the top corner you are now ready to catch it. It may be hard at first to land the trick because you are doing a lot of manipulations to the board, but it should become relatively easier the more you practice. The inventor of the trick was none other than the pro street skater Rodney Mullen.
