Legends, Pros and Amateurs

Following the success of the inaugural Red Bull Skate Generation in 2010, the international invitational event returned to Florianopolis in Brazil this year for a second demonstration of cross-generation skating skills held in local hero Pedro Barros’s very own private skatepark (Florianopolis). In front of 2000 fans, Barros used his home advantage to good effect as he grabbed victory to cement his reputation as the king of the bowl. Just as two years ago, Pedro Barros’s tree-lined backyard provided an incredible backdrop for a truly unique contest putting teams of skaters aged 15 to 50 against each other. With teams featuring one member from each of the categories Pro, Pro Master, Legend and Amateur, Saturday’s qualifying session gave the riders a chance to get used to the course and, at the same time, determined the line-ups for the grand finale on Sunday. After a tough battle between the five teams, it came down to a straight shoot-out between the crew led by six-time vert world champion, Sandro Dias, and the posse headed by local favourite Barros. With teammates Christian Hosoi (Legend), Leo Kakinho (Pro Master) and Felipe Caltabiano (Amateur) all rocking the bowl and feeding off the energy of the partisan 2000-strong crowd, Barros pushed on to lead his riders to victory with towering aerials, sick tricks and unrivalled speed. Second place went to the team of Dias (Pro), Jeff Grosso (Legend), Paul Roger (Pro Master) and Franco (Amateur).

Perfect Moment would like to introduce to you our youngest and most promising rider, skateboarder Poppy Starr Olsen. At only 11 years old, after 3 years of skating, Poppy had an amazing season, coming top in a field of girls twice her age to be crowned Australian National Bowl Skating Champion, and getting to skate at the Legendary event, Vans Bowl-a-Rama in Bondi. Check this video out, got a feeling we'll be seeing a lot more of this rising star soon!

A concrete bowl inside a skateshop? Why not?! Darauf können die Hauptstädter mächtig stolz sein: Nach satten 10 Jahren in der Spandauer Straße, freut sich Titus Berlin über einen Tapetenwechsel und den Umzug in die Karl-Liebknecht-Straße 9! Im neuen, riesigen Shop unweit des Alexanderplatzes findet sich neben jeder Menge allerfeinster Streetwear und Hardware auch die vielleicht beste Möglichkeit letztgenannte zu testen: Nämlich in einem standesamtlichen Bowl! Richtig gelesen: Ein Bowl, im Shop! Geil! Wir waren bei der Eröffnung am Start und erwischten unter anderem Roland „Hirschi" Hirsch, Lennie Burmeister und Farid Ulrich in der Schüssel. Das finden wir ziemlich dufte, wie man an der Spree gerne sagt.

Telekom COS Bowl Serie 2011 - Review

Dieses Jahr war die Disziplin Bowl endlich wieder Bestandteil des Telekom COS Cup. An vier Stationen ging der Punk ab und wir gratulieren Thilo Nawrocki, der den Titel des Deutschen Meisters verteidigt hat. Den zweiten Platz konnte Christian Krause einfahren und Platz drei ging an Julius Dittmann. Die Gewinner der einzelnen Tourstopps sehen wie folgt aus: Hemer: Kevin Wenzke Münster: Robin Mentrup Stuttgart: Jürgen Horrwarth Hamburg: Christian Krause Wir gratulieren den Siegern und bedanken uns bei jedem, der am Telekom COS Cup in irgendeiner Form mitgewirkt hat. 2012 wird weitergemacht! http://www.titus.de- Fünf tapfere Knappen, namentlich Tobias Hünefeld, Robin Mentrup, Tom Kleinschmidt, Julius Dittmann und das Schneekind Marius, verfügten sich in der Dämmerung des Spätsommers nach Bilbao, um dort des Leimes Versprechen einzulösen, er halte sieben Schichten Ahorn so zusammen, dass man sie geradezu barbarisch könne strapazieren. Freilich ist der Preuße gutgläubig, dennoch, dies musste man einer Prüfung unterziehen! Die Bizkaianische Sonne hatte das ganze Jahr über kräftig geschienen, so dass auch noch aus der engsten Stadtfuge Skateparks geschossen waren. Unsere Helden wussten um die Eigentümlichkeit des baskischen Betons. Dieser fruchtet nämlich erst im Spätsommer...
