About Daron Rahlves
Daron Louis Rahlves was a downhill skier on the U. S. Ski Team. He competes in the Downhill, Giant Slalom and the Super Giant Slalom. Born in Walnut Creek, CA on June 12, 1973, Daron is also competitive in motor cross and jet-skiing.
Daron Rahlves won twelve World Cup titles over a span of 13 seasons, his first in 2000, and his last shortly before he retired in 2006. Nine of his twelve wins were in the Downhill races; the other three were for the Super Giant Slalom. In 2004 he became the first American to win the Hahnenkamm in Kitzbühel, Austria. He was on the World Championship Team six different years and the US Olympic team in 1998, 2002, and 2006. Although there were no medals for his Olympic involvement, he won three World Championship medals, one gold, one silver and one bronze.
