About Jossi Wells
What if I told you there is a kid who gets in a helicopter at the age of 9, is dropped off the top of a mountain and skies down to capture the New Zealand Rip Curl Heli challenge crown? Would you think is true? Well even though is hard to believe, that is exactly what professional skier Jossi Wells did and ever since, Jossi has continued to dominate the sport. In 2007 he became the youngest skier at the Winter X games. He also went on to win the European Superpipe Open.
Born in Wanaka, New Zealand on May 18, 1990 Jossi barrels over the competition as if it were the snow he glides across. Some of his sponsors include Monster Energy Drink, Oakley, Atomic, Nike 6.0, Giro, Empire Attire and Skullcandy. His favourite trick is the Cork 9 tail and Rodeo 5. When Jossi Wells is asked who or what has been the biggest influence in his life he replies “God. Big homie always has my back. My parents as well.”
In 2006 he came in first place during the New Zealand Freeski Open. The following year in the Orage European Freeski Open -Halfpipe he also came in 1st place. Then in 2008 Jossi took 1st place in the 48 Straight
