The two were in Alaska in mid-January shooting for Teton Gravity Research's new movie "The Dream Factory." The GoPro TGR Athlete Video Series follows TGR athletes through the lens of their GoPro. It’s been a slow couple of weeks here in Jackson, as we (and most of the country, for that matter) have been stuck in a high pressure cycle for some time now. This week, however, brought some relief in the form of 5″ of fresh between Tuesday and Thursday. While typically not something to write home about, the new snow coupled with an inversion layers made for some gorgeous mornings and some surprisingly good skiing Thursday and Friday on Teton Pass. After an unbelievably gorgeous fall, winter finally kicked into gear this weekend. We’ve picked up as much as 20″ up high so far and there’s steady snow in the forecast through the end of the weekend. I decided to pull the trigger late last night and met up with some friends at Grand Targhee this morning. We skinned to the top of Dreamcatcher and made our way down Wild Willie. A strong wind had scoured most of the fresh snow on top, but the snow was light and got better and better as we made our way down. It’s still thin, I didn’t hit anything major. With 64 ski days at Jackson Hole under my belt this season and my parents in town, I decided to mix it up and pay Grand Targhee my first visit this past Saturday. The drive was shorter than expected, we didn’t wait in a lift line all day and there were plenty of stashes from the 7″ that had fallen in the previous 48 hours. They allude to it in the final sentence below, but this is my rebuttal to Unofficial Jackson’s complaints about today’s conditions. Oh, and the mother nature will have added 5-10″ by tomorrow when you watch this. "The inbounds skiing on Jackson is still recovering. The upper elevations north facing shots still have a chalky softer base for this new snow to sit upon. But, most of the mountain still needs more snow to cover up this hard base left from the warm week. If you are willing to do some walking or skinning, there is still some great snow."

A POV video by Henrik Windstedt from the top section of tree skiing directly above Mica Lodge. This is what your last run of the day is like, from here one more tree section and you ski right to the door of the lodge, grab a beer and hop in the hot tub. This is also what the catskiing is like for those very rare times when we cant fly the helicopter.
