About Kelly Clark

Kelly Clark is a professional snowboarder who was born in Burlington, Vermont on July 26, 1983. Kelly started snowboarding when she was 8 years old and in 1999 when she was 16 started entering competitions. In 2000 she became an official member of the US Snowboard team at age 17. She attended the Mount Snow Academy in Vermont where she trained for competitive snowboarding and graduated from there in the spring of 2001.

At the 2002 Winter Olympics in Salt Lake City Utah Kelly Clark won a gold medal for women's halfpipe and became famous as the first American Olympic champion of the Salt Lake Games. She is considered to be one of the most progressive and dominating halfpipe riders in the history of the sport. She has won almost every title that is present for her sport including the X Games, Grand Prix and the Olympics. Kelly Clark has also won international opens around the world including the New Zealand, Australian and European Opens. Some of her corporate sponsors are Giro Helmets, Swatch TTR World Tour and Burton.
