About Marc Frank Montoya

Marc Frank Montoya was born on June 13th, 1974 in Denver Colorado. He loved to skateboard and was good at it but during winter time in Colorado he couldn’t do much skateboarding, so he started snowboarding as a hobby in winter time, a hobby that soon turned him into a pro.

Montoya was the first Mexican-American to turn pro in Denver and he is the only Latino snowboarder. In 2003, Marc Frank Montoya won the Toyota Big Air tournament in Japan. In 2004, he won the Red Bull Heavy Metal Rail Jam tournament. The last one is one of the most respected rail events in professional snowboarding and took place in Park City, UT.

In the year 2005 he reached the number three spot for the top ten riders of 2005 on the Snowboarder Magazine. However, Marc's success also reaches the entrepreneur world; he runs his own hotel in Tahoe, The Block. Montoya is a successful rap DJ and he also designed a new line of apparel called Sound.
