About Terje Haakonsen
Terje Haakonsen is a pro snowboarder from Norway. Terje is a very popular boarder; much of his fame was gained during the 90's when he dominated the freestyle landscape of professional snowboarding. Terje won the ISF World Championships three years in a row, in 1993, 1995, and 1997.
Terje Haakonsen wasn't limited to just freestyle, he won the European Championship in half pipe five times in the 90's, and three times in the United States. As if these credentials weren't enough to warrant his fame, he also set the world record for most air at the Oslo in 2007. Terje Haakonsen also created his own aerial move, now known as the Haakon Flip.
Terje also participated in the making of the popular boarding film, "First Descent". Along with other middle-aged boarders of his era, and the new boarders of this generation, he is helping to promote the sport and shed new light on it to others. Terje has dominated boarding for years, and has done wonders for the sport, he deserves all the credit that has been given to him.
