The REEL - Episode 4 w/ Brandon Cocard

Brandon grew up in Tahoe so you know he loves deep snow. No stranger to 50 foot winters and frequent 8 month seasons, he knows this area well. But the vastness of Tahoe proves itself in episode 4 as this winter brought with it a brand new zone for Cocard to explore. Only accessed by snowmobile this new zone brought endless pow, untouched and most importantly, unshared lines and jump spots. Brandon tells us, "...it's one of the most amazing places I've seen in Tahoe, and you can go out there every day of the winter and never see another crew, which is awesome." We head out into the backcountry with Brandon and a tight crew, friends Taylor Carlton and Dan Conroy have been sworn in under oath and join us for some pow action. Some of the locations in this episode are so covert, that if you agree to be brought out by those who know how to access it, you have to agree that you will never go back there with anyone unless the person who originally brought you out brings you back. If you don't agree to the terms, you are sent home wondering what you missed. That's the creed and there are no exceptions.

The REEL - Episode 3 w/ Brandon Cocard

In episode 3 we're with Brandon mid season. The snow is starting to pile up and the resorts terrain parks are looking polished. Brandon shows us what to do when the crowds are in town for the Holidays, we go with him and his friends to a night rail session and then to the parks for some quality time in the air. Brandon explains why Tahoe is such a great place to live, "Truckee is a great location because you are in the epicenter of it all... you can drive 5-10 minutes in any direction and hit a resort and all these resorts have sick parks." This episode is packed with rider cameo's of today's top riders as well as Brandon's friends and Tahoe lokes. Look for locals like Taylor Carlton, Brett Davis, Alex Horgan and Zak Shelhamer as well as superstatus's like Torstein Horgmo and Kazuhiro Kokubo. Big thanks to Devin at Hover Effect for running the remote heli and getting all of Aux Channel's aerial footy!

The goal of The REEL is to let you connect with the rider, let you in on stuff, and let you know more about them through their personality. We want you to know Brandon, like we know Brandon because he and his friend's are rad. In this episode he brings us out for an early season powder search and shows us that warming up before the primary season hits, is always a good idea. Not only does it help you get your legs back, but it's damn fun to hack around with your friends! We stay local to Cocard's home base and head up to Donner summit where freestyle snowboarding began.
