In this follow up episode Mike dives right in with custom fabrication on the motor he must mount to his new rope tow transmission. Watch Mike grind, weld and work his way through difficulties as he creates the power plant for Area 241's newest transporter. Using spare parts and old junk is his favorite approach, "... a lot of times you'd be surprised what is just laying around or even in the gutter of someone's house." The goal of The REEL is to let you connect with the rider, let you in on stuff, and let you know more about them through their personality. We want you to know Brandon, like we know Brandon because he and his friend's are rad. In this episode he brings us out for an early season powder search and shows us that warming up before the primary season hits, is always a good idea. Not only does it help you get your legs back, but it's damn fun to hack around with your friends! We stay local to Cocard's home base and head up to Donner summit where freestyle snowboarding began. Brandon Cocard is lucky enough to call snowboarding his job. Therefore, keeping his game up year round is essential to him as a rising name in the snowboard scene. Working as a snowboard coach in the summer time gives Brandon the opportunity to ride a lot as well as interact with kids who look up to him as an athlete. Sometimes his rewards come in the form of emotions, he explains, "when a camper commits to a trick and lands it, they feel stoked to be here and that's what keeps me coming back each year". We'll take you up to Mt. Hood where Brandon is a coach at Windell's and go inside the campers crew to watch them try new things and push themselves mentally and physically. Standard Films Rookie Halldor Helgason straight out of Iceland, visits the USA and Tahoe for the first time this winter to shoot for Black Winter. Halldor just came off a very successful mission in Quebec and has been working over some familiar territory here in the states.
