Jarrad Howse tells us about the highlight of day 2 in Thurso. After a sunny warm start yesterday, the morning was a little bit more crisp as the skies clouded over and the temperature significantly dropped They finish completing the final 8 Heats of Round 1. O&#xu2;019Neill Team Rider Sam Lamiroy (GBR) has a slow start to his heat, but claiming a wave in the dying stages, he progresses through to the next round. Sam only needs a 2.5 with 1:30 to go. Scottish surfer Chris Noble GBR) makes history as the first local competitor to ever come through this first round of the O&#xu2;019Neill Cold Water Classic Scotland in the freezing waters of the most northerly event in professional surfing. Jay Quinn (NZL) nails the highest score today and goes on playing in the Annual Surfer Soccer Match in Thurso and is of course also in the winning team.

The first day of surf was a little rough for Tina, and Cheyne Magnusson was a little too busy ripping for any instructional assistance. So they follow the signs to another empty spot where the waves were better for Tina to try and learn to surf. Especially after a little help from Tetsuo and Cheyne.

No surf on the last day of Cheyne Magnusson's trip to Niijima Island. Yugo Harada, our Japanese marketing guru, knew of a house on the island that had a half-pipe in the backyard. Cheyne definitely wanted to check it out and when he saw it, he didn't know what to think. Then it was off to Japanese sand mountain surfing with Cheyne's broken board. Everyone has a go, and everyone got sand in all sorts of places.

VQS CORRUPTO FISH - SAO PAULO SP (BRAZIL)

On the 11th of April, Volcom Brazil finished its last regional VQS event at Baleia Beach on the north shore of Sao Paulo. With really good surfing and sets reaching 6 feet, kids from all over showed up to compete for a place in Brazil's VQS Final, Paella Fish, schedualed to happen the next day.
