Williams wins in China, Steinriede on top of the world, local surf community shares the stoke! A timely overnight pulse in swell and offshore winds groomed shoulder to head high wave faces at Riyuewan Beach for finals day of the SWATCH GIRLS PRO CHINA hosted by Wanning. Beachgoers were treated to another display of cutting edge longboard riding from the very finest female talents. A healthy crowd lining the beach on the southeast coast of Hainan Island watched Chelsea Williams win the event, whilst Lindsay Steinriede was crowned 2011 ASP Women's Longboard World Champion.

CHINA GETS ITS FIRST TASTE OF PROFESSIONAL SURFING The SWATCH GIRLS PRO China hosted by Wanning launched professional surfing in China today with the world's best female longboarders putting on a spectacular show at Riyuewan Bay, Hainan Island. The 3-4 foot (1.5 meter) waves were ideal for surfers to unleash their full bags of tricks, much to the delight of Chinese spectators, many of whom were watching the sport for the time. Hainan Island is home to more than 7,000,000 Chinese, with an area of 13,500 square miles. It's year-round tropical climate and miles of white sandy coastline have earned it the moniker "China's Hawaii". The SWATCH Girls Pro China is the second of two events on the ASP Women's World Longboard Tour and will decide the 2011 ASP Women's World Longboard Champion.

SWATCH GIRLS PRO France 2011 - Highlights of Day 2

The ASP 6-Star SWATCH GIRLS PRO France held a marathon day running through three rounds of competition to decide the final remaining 12 athletes in the chase for the 2011 SWATCH GIRLS PRO France title. Many excellent displays of surfing from both Top Seeds and young challengers were witnessed as performance levels rose in solid 4ft waves at the main event site at Les Bourdaines. A slight overnight decrease in swell size greeted event officials and surfers early this morning with the green light given to start Round Two in consistent punchy peaks with little or no wind. Conditions improved with the incoming afternoon tide to the delight of the crowds lining the beach. Towards the end of the day, the level of the competition reaches new heights: 12 surfers, including French Cannelle Bulard and Justine Dupont are still in contention to clinch the prestigious SWATCH GIRLS PRO France title.
